Moderator Training Pack

The LBA has also developed the 'Interim Moderator training pack' to accompany its other publication helping churches in their pastoral transition, 'When a Pastor leaves ...'. This training pack is designed to help people prepare for and reflect on their role as moderators for churches in pastoral transition. The resource looks at the following issues:

• What is an interim moderator?

Introducing the concept of an interim moderator and the developments and innovations in the role that the pack is suggesting.

• Roles for an interim moderator

This section analyses the different roles that an interim moderator can take up.

• The interim process

In this section follows the model for the interim process outlined in When a Pastor leaves ... and identifies the pitfalls to look out for and where training and reflection might be needed.

• The development process

This section introduces a model of interim ministry developed by the Alban Institute and seeks to apply it to the British context, as a guide to making the best possible use of pastoral transitions.
