When a Pastor Leaves

The LBA has produced a workbook to provide churches with a framework to manage the transition from the time when a minister indicates that she/he is leaving to the selection and induction of a new pastor. The workbook is entitled 'When a Pastor leaves ... Enabling pastoral transitions in the local church.'

The workbook includes practical advice and resources on a wide range of issues including:

• practical issues that need to be addressed when a minister is leaving
• a liturgy for ending a pastoral relationship
• workshops for a church to use during the pastoral transition
• help with drawing up a Church profile
• guidance in interviewing prospective ministers
• how to welcome a new minister and arrange an induction process
