We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new team of Regional Ministers for the Association.   As you will remember, we advertised for two positions several weeks ago.  We were encouraged by a healthy response to the advertisement and eventually interviewed seven candidates for the positions on the 15th and 16th June.

The process took some unexpected – and providential – twists and turns which has enabled us to recruit the equivalent of three new regional ministers:  two part-time (50%) and two full-time.  We weren’t expecting this outcome at the start but for a variety of reasons, not least being compelled by the character and gifts being offered by the candidates themselves – coupled with the surprising and pleasing situation that we could make the costs of this particular team sustainable for the LBA.

We are unable to announce the fourth member of the team just yet as he has not yet informed his current church but we felt we should go public on the names of the other three appointees. They are:

The Revd. Lee Johnson (currently pastor of Stoke Newington BC and NE District Minister)

The Revd. Carol Bostridge (former pastor of Crofton Park BC and current SE District Minister)

The Revd. Winston Bygrave (currently pastor of West Hendon BC and NW District Minister)

Lee will be full-time with the Association and we are hoping to base him in North East London. He is likely to be covering the Northern, North Eastern and Eastern districts of the LBA.

Carol and Winston are part-time (50%) appointments. They both already live in the areas which they will probably cover.  Carol lives in Lewisham and will continue her ministry in that area – working part-time for the Association and part-time for Lewisham Foodbank.   She is likely to have responsibility for the South East and South East Thames districts.   Winston lives in South Oxhey (in between Harrow and Watford) and will continue to be part-time minister of West Hendon BC alongside his new role in the LBA.  He is likely to have responsibility for the North Western district.

The other person (to be announced soon) will be full-time and cover the Western, Thames Valley and Heart of London districts. They will most likely be based in West London around Heathrow within easy reach of the soon-to-be-opened Elizabeth Line.

Phil Barnard will remain based in Tooting and cover the South West and East Surrey districts.

Further details will be shared in due course (including start dates, days off and other roles & responsibilities) but these are exciting times for the LBA.   We are preparing our new offices for our forthcoming move and news about that will also follow.  Please do be in prayer for us as we transition to a new team and location.  Do pray especially for the new regional ministers as they prepare for these new roles – and lay down other responsibilities.
