Mission to London in 2018

There is something amazing happening up and down the UK at the moment that started in Reading in June. Ordinary believers are going onto the streets of the UK and seeing thousands of people giving their lives to the Lord. The most amazing thing is that this started in a Baptist Church in Reading. Since then our General Secretary Lynn Green, Billy Kennedy one of the presidents of Churches Together, Steve Thomas head of Salt and Light, Julian Richards head of New Wine Wales, among many others, have been to see what is happening.  This was first reported in the Baptist Times in June. See the link here: http://tiny.cc/jyx0jy

Since then ordinary believers have been going on the streets after spending time in the presence of God with a simple gospel and leading many people to the Lord. Here is a video link that you can see on Facebook reporting what is going on: http://tiny.cc/ecx0jy

There have been missions in Reading, Southampton, Liverpool, Leicester and South Oxford. There is a national mission being prepared for Wales which will cover 80 towns and cities simultaneously and another mission taking place in Bristol now.  Also, a team has even gone to Lille in France, had a 2-week mission and seen 865 people respond. Between June and November, 5000 people on the streets have responded to an invitation to accept Christ. Another remarkable and unusual thing is that 70% of those who have made a commitment to Christ have given in their names and contact details to be followed up.

Something is happening and Yinka Oyekan (Baptist Minister of ‘The Gate’ Reading) now has a vision to bring this mission to the 35 boroughs of London in 2018. He has said that if the same result occurs then we could see 35,000 people make a commitment to Christ. I have agreed to help facilitate this mission and would ask that if you are interested in being involved you contact me at either alexafriyi@aol.com or 07931 521 221 to express your interest in coming to an initial meeting to find out more.

This move of God has started in a Baptist church. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could be at the forefront of hosting this move of the Spirit as it comes into London? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see thousands saved?

Now that sounds like Acts 2: 42 ‘Those who accepted his message were baptised, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.’

Looking forward to hearing from you

Blessings

Alex Afriyie (Minister, London Network Church)
