At the LBA Annual Assembly on 14 May 2003, Rev David Shosanya's appointment was unanimously confirmed as LBA Regional Minister (Mission). He took up his post on 1 September 2003. When she commended David's appointment to the LBA Annual Assembly on behalf of the Selection Committee and LBA Board, Pat Took said that David Shosanya was currently the Minister of Chalk Farm Baptist Church. She said that he is 34 years old, married to Yvonne and has a young family. Pat said that David's background is in the pentecostal tradition, but that since 1992 he had been exploring other models and expressions of being church. As a result he found himself committed to the Baptist expression of being church. He studied theology at the Roehampton Institute, gaining his degree in 1997. Pat said that David has experience in leading short-term missions in Europe with "Reign Ministries" and has developed a number of innovative approaches to mission at Chalk Farm. He is a person of energy and creativity - a person who it is believed will help churches think 'outside the box' when it comes to mission. He has a holistic view of mission, believing that the gospel is about the transformation of the whole of life. He has become engaged in a number of inter-agency approaches to tackling social issues for example in work with the Home Office Strategic Policy Team (regarding issues of youth offending), with the Metropolitan Police (involved in organising a conference funded by the Metropolitan Police Authority to explore issues around faith and criminal justice), with the London Civic Forum and the London Development Agency. In addition, David has contributed to press and media on a range of faith-related subjects and lectures on Social Exclusion and Diversity for Oasis Trust on their youth and ministry course.
