In 2013 the LBA adopted a new strategy – a renewed vision for today’s culture, rooted in scripture and drawing on the principles of our predecessors as we prepare to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Association in 2015.
The following are the guiding principles which undergird and transform our vision into a strategy. We seek to be:
- Biblically driven
- Striving for holiness
- Respecting diverse expressions of spirituality
- Upholding freedom of conscience for all
- Dissenters, maintaining the historic principles of dissent and relating them to our contemporary culture.
There are five key areas through which the strategy will be worked out:
We will work towards a greater level of unity so we may grow in godliness and be better equipped to share the gospel through work and deed.
We will endeavour to work out our integral mission
> in all places
> among all people
> through Home Mission
> by creating strategic alliances and partnerships with other agencies.
We will discern the Spirit’s guiding and leading to provide a prophetic lead to help us grow as disciples. This will be enabled through promoting study, stewardship and devotional life through programmed themes to achieve steady and healthy growth towards full maturity in faith.
- INTERNATIONAL FOCUS
> celebrate the opportunities of the diversity of London
> utilise our resources and networks for international focus
> engage with networks for international links
>demonstrate a readiness to learn from the global south where the church is growing.
